An online oil and gas publication has listed the top 10 oil producing countries. They have been picked based on their crude production in million barrels per day and according to their share of world production.

These countries own the most precious resource in our planet, which takes millions of years to create and seconds to burn: the black gold called oil. This resource plays a key role in global economics and politics determining countries’ impact in the world.

The top 10 oil producing countries are as follows:-

1. Saudi Arabia: Crude production 11.75m barrels p/d & share of world production 13.24%

2. United States: Crude production 10.59m barrels p/d & share of world production 11.94%

3. Russia: Crude production 10.3m barrels p/d & share of world production 11.64%

4. China: Crude production 4.19m barrels p/d & share of world production 4.7%

5. Iran: Crude production 4.13m barrels p/d & share of world production 4.6%

6. Canada: Crude production 3.92m barrels p/d & share of world production 4.4%

7. United Arab Emirates: Crude production 3.23m barrels p/d & share of world production 3.6%

8. Mexico: Crude production 2.95m barrels p/d & share of world production 3.3%

9. Brazil: Crude production 2.8m barrels p/d & share of world production 3.15%

10. Kuwait: Crude production 2.75m barrels p/d & share of world production 3.1%
